Rawlinsons’ publishing operations began in 1983, following investigations into the possible requirement for a comprehensive book of current construction costs.
On receiving favourable feedback, the company was formed with the express purpose of producing and publishing a technical, building cost book for sale to the construction industry throughout Australia. The aim was to deliver this information in one annual book, which would include information for all States, and the first edition of Rawlinsons Australian Construction Handbook was published in 1983.
Following the success of the Handbook, in 1993 we were approached to produce a similar publication, but for domestic and small commercial projects. The result was Rawlinsons Construction Cost Guide.
Both of our books are compiled and edited annually by Rawlinsons, Quantity Surveyors and Construction Cost Consultants, a company founded in Australia in 1953. Whilst this company provides the data for inclusion in each edition, it relies extensively on the professional expertise of many firms throughout Australia and overseas to ensure the accuracy and currency of all the published information.
Rawlinsons has become the leading publisher of construction cost data in Australia, producing annual editions of Rawlinsons Australian Construction Handbook and Rawlinsons Construction Cost Guide for large commercial and domestic/small commercial projects respectively. Rawlinsons provides essential and current information for all involved in property and building. For large or small construction projects, Rawlinsons can supply the book that best meets the needs of all.
A recent addition to our publications is Rawlinsons Process Engineering Handbook. See Icon above for detailed information and order form.
Rawlinsons also supports and publishes certain selected works by Australian writers and several books have now been published, as well as many self-publishing projects.
